Foxconn Unveils Its First Large Language Model, “FoxBrain”

Taipei 10 March 2025 10 March 2025 Foxconn, the largest electronics manufacturer, has unveiled its first large language model (LLM) called FoxBrain, which marks significant progress in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) creation. This announcement came from an official from the Hon Hai Research Institute, which is Foxconn’s dedicated R&D division, at the event’s press conference in Taiwan.

A First for Taiwan’s AI Landscape

FoxBrain is Taiwan’s first LLM, which was designed with a strong focus on traditional Chinese and Taiwanese language styles. Trained using 120 of Nvidia’s H100 GPUs over four weeks, the model is based on Meta’s Llama 3.1 architecture and aims to revolutionize manufacturing, supply chain management, and enterprise AI applications.

“FoxBrain is not just another language model—it is built to enhance decision-making, improve automation, and support AI-driven industrial applications,” said a spokesperson from Foxconn.

Partnership with Nvidia

The Nvidia Taipei AI supercomputer trained FoxBrain, making it one of Taiwan’s most efficient AI models. The involvement of Nvidia is a solid alliance between the AI chip maker and Foxconn in a time when both companies push the limits of AI for industrial applications. Further details regarding FoxBrain’s expansion, as well as commercial applications, are likely to be released at Nvidia’s next GTC Developer Conference.
